As a California resident, should I form my Series LLC in California?
Due to the $800/yr franchise tax that California imposes on LLCs, we do not recommend creating an LLC in California. Alternatively, we recommend the Delaware Statutory Trust (DST). The DST offers the same liability separation and streamlined business keeping practices as the Series LLC but without the yearly franchise tax.
