If my LLC is formed in a state other than my home state, do I need to register the LLC in my home state as well?
It depends on how you are running your business. If your llc is buying property directly into the name of the llc then it must register, and we can help with how to preserve the anonymity even in that scenario. If you are not buying property directly into the LLC or marketing yourself in the state, the LLC does not have to register it since the title holder to the properties is a trust, not an llc. As such the llc is not directly doing business in that state. Similarly, the business transactions would be with individuals in another state contracting with your entity that is operating out of the formation state. It would be an interstate transaction which would not require additional state registration
