Can I establish a Series LLC in my state?
You can form an LLC in about a dozen states but they are recognized everywhere.
Not every state allows you to establish a Series LLC within its borders. (However, most will allow you to use a “foreign” Series LLC to do business. For this purpose, a “foreign” Series LLC is defined as any entity formed outside the borders of a specific state.) Texas and Delaware have the loosest regulations regarding Series LLCs, making them ideal areas to establish one. California is strict, however. To do business within California, you may want to consider the Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) instead. (We can help with that too!)
